It was a drive from Sydney to the Blue Mountains, we stayed overnight and drove back the next day.

The event was organised by Robb Report which is a luxury magazine specialising in cars, aviation and travel.

They presented 9 cars over the 2 days for us to drive and evaluate based on different categories.

How Did You Get Picked as a Judge?

The Robb Report invites their readers to be judges and you pay to attend the event.

What Key Things Were You Looking For as a Judge?

There were different cars in each category such as SUV, touring sports car and supercar.
We assessed each car based on each category then considered each feature from that perspective.

Handling performance, acceleration, braking, overall feel and comfort and the look of the cars were all rated.

What Was the Outline of the Event?

Day one started at The Royal Automobile Club of Australia on Macquarie Street with breakfast and a briefing.

Then we had the opportunity to drive the cars on the way up to the Blue Mountains, where we stayed at Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa.

Car of the year lunch

On day two we drove back to Sydney and concluded the event with a three-course lunch and Q&A discussion at View By Sydney.

We met a lot of the car dealership heads and other successful people in the car industry.

Which Car Won?

The one that won was the Ferrari 812 Superfast it was good fun to drive and very fast.

Lamborghini was my second choice, it was a more practical car being a 4 wheel drive.

What Did You Enjoy Most About the Event?

Other than driving the amazing cars, the venue for the meals was really nice. The hotel we stayed in the Blue Mountains was beautiful and we were looked after very well.

It was a really good experience overall with other like-minded people on the trip.
